Irwin Car and Equipment has been custom designing scale cars and transfer cars for nearly 100 years. Our Atlas Cars that are steel mill tough and designed to reliably perform their jobs while standing up to the harshest conditions.
We continue to incorporate the features that have made our scale cars great for decades, including precision-type load cells in thermally protected removable housings, a patented ball mounting system which ensures proper loading of the cells and prevents damage, a patented flat bar checking system that ensures proper alignment between the frame and hoppers, remote control operation and scale readout. Our transfer cars continue to build upon the experience of having built some of the largest mill duty transfer cars in the world over the last century.
