Plant Capabilities

At Irwin Car and Equipment we take considerable pride in our facilities and are constantly working to upgrade our manufacturing capabilities to keep pace with the production demands of the industries we serve. The following "virtual tour" of our facilities will give you a clear understanding of our capabilities and commitment to having the equipment, raw materials, components and tools required to keep you up and running.

Main Plant

Irwin's main manufacturing facility comprises some 60,000 - plus square feet of prime, heavy duty manufacturing space, consisting of 2 main fabrication bays with 30 ton cap. bridge cranes, 1 secondary fabrication bay with a 15 ton cap. bridge crane, 1 spare parts and product storage bay, 2 smaller intermediate bays for materials processing and storage, 1 main assembly bay where all of our wheel assemblies are inspected, assembled, tested and prepped for shipment, and over 6,700 square feet of climate controlled space in our machine shop and tooling center, with a 6 ton bridge crane and wall mounted jib cranes to serve every machine.

Wegley Plant

One and a half years ago, Irwin Car and Equipment purchased the custom, light - duty, aluminum, alloy and structural fabrication company Industrial Alloys. In addition to this acquisition augmenting our manufacturing capabilities with precise and skilled alloy weldments as well as quality structural fabrications, our Wegley plant is located a mere 1.5 miles from our main plant, and provides Irwin Car and Equipment with another 15,000 sq. ft. of prime manufacturing and production office space, with a 10 ton bridge crane and smaller jib cranes servicing the main fabrication, machining and inspection bays.

Main Office

The Irwin East Building, located at 9953 Broadway - Rt. 993 in Irwin, PA, houses the world headquarters and main administrative offices of Irwin Car and Equipment. Irwin's management offices, sales departments (Industrial, Mining and 3-H Division), engineering department, purchasing and materials management, and administrative functions are housed in this 12,500-sq. ft. 2-story modern office building. Our office sits just 500 yards from our main manufacturing plant, and we are located within 5 minutes of Exit 7 (Irwin Exit) off the Pennsylvania Turnpike, US 76, and just 25 miles from downtown Pittsburgh.
